How to Enable Two-factor Authentication in WHM

Two-factor authentication allows you to make your WHM logins more secure by using a code generated from a smartphone authenticator application.

Note that you will need to have root access in order to enable two-factor authentication.

Login to WHM
In the search bar, type in “Two-Factor Authentication”, or go to the Security Center section to find it. Click on Two-Factor Authentication to begin

Click on the OFF/ON slide bar to enable Two-Factor Authentication

Once the policy is enabled, you can leave the ISSUER to the default name (based on your server), or you can type in a name. Click on SAVE once the name has been selected.

Next, click on Manage My Account

Here you will see STATUS: Not Configured. Click on Setup Two-Factor Authentication. You will need your smartphone for this part.

You will then be required to scan the barcode that appears. Open Google Authenticator and you will see the option to scan the barcode.

Once the barcode is scanned, you will be given a 6-digit code. On your computer, scroll down until you get to the section where you can enter the code. Note that the code on your phone will change in 30 seconds, so if you’re unable to get the first code typed in within that period, you will need to use the next code.

When the code is entered in correctly, you will see a confirmation message in WHM and the status will read CONFIGURED.

When the code has been accepted, you can test your two-factor authentication by logging out and then logging back into the WHM.

You will be required to type in your normal user name and password, but then afterwards, you will be prompted to enter the 6-digit code provided by to you by the Google Authenticator.

In this video, we will show you how to create an email address within the cPanel.

First log into your cPanel as I’ve done here.

Next, locate the “Mail” category.

You will see many icons here dealing with mail, but we are interested in the “Email Accounts” icon.

Give that a click.

We are brought to the Email Accounts page.

From here, enter a new email account name.

Now enter a password. Make sure it is fairly strong.

You can use the Password Generator if you want to create a very strong passwrod, just be sure to write it down so you remember it.

Change the quota if you need to. 250MB is usually enough for most people, however.

Click on the “Create Account” button.

After the email address has been created, you will see it in the list below.

How to Configure Contact Form Notification

Many of the default setups in BoldGrid come complete with a Contact Form. This video will show you how to configure the contact form so that you are notified when someone fills it out.

First, log into your BoldGrid Admin Interface.

To locate the form, you need to work with, go to the Pages section.

Then Edit the page that has the Contact Form.

Switch to Text version and locate the form ID.

This is the form you will be working with.

Next, click on the Forms link on the left-hand side bar menu.

Locate the form you are going to work with from the Forms list, hover over it and click on the “Edit” link.

This opens up a tabs page specific to the form. Click on the Email & Actions tab.

You are now on the Actions list page. If it is your first time, you will notice there are no actions listed. Click on the “Add New” button to add a new one.

Give your action a name, something you can identify it with, such as “Email Admin”

Then go to the type and select “Email” from the dropdown menu.

Some of the information will be filled out for you. Check these fields to see if you want to change any of it.

The ”TO” field is the one we want to pay attention to. Enter the email addresses that you want to notify when a form has been submitted. The only limitation is that the list of email addresses cannot include the same as the “FROM” field.

Give it a descriptive Subject just like any email.

In the Email message section, click on the “Insert All Fields” button so that it includes all the information that was submitted in the form. This information will be in table form.

Click on the “Save” button to save the configuration. Your new action will now appear in the Actions List page.

Now you will get an email whenever someone submits a form on your BoldGrid site!
